John gives us some practical ways in which we can “love the brethren”. Our brother needs food, clothing and a place to live in addition to your prayers! Put your faith in action.

This is in line with what he says in many of his other writings (Gal 3:27; Rom 8:10; Gal 2:20 and Eph 3:17-18).
