Safe

Here are some Bible verses and a song about our safety in the Lord.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower.

I heard a song not long ago and it caused me to meditate upon how very safe I am in the Lord (the song is at the bottom of this post). He promised that He will never leave nor forsake us (Deut 31:6, Joshua 1:5, Ps 94:14, Is 41:17) and the Lord is faithful to keep His promises. Let’s take a look at what the Bible says about being safe and about the shelter that we have only in the Lord. Here is a collection of Bible verses (passages) that confirm the faith of man and the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father:

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. (Psalms 4:8)

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalms 46:1)

For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. (Psalms 61:3)

Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. (Psalms 119:117)

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. (Proverbs 1:33)

In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. (Proverbs 14:26)

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. (Proverbs 18:10)

The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord. (Proverbs 21:31)

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:25)

Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: (Jeremiah 32:37)

I have only scraped the surface. I encourage you to do a little searching on your own. In the meantime, here is that song:

I hope you are encouraged by this today. I know this song will be in my heart all day!
