What’s in a Name?

Tenley Rose is born!
It is a beautiful time in St. Paul Minnesota. Well the weather is a little cold, but it is bright and shiny inside and out.  You see we have a new member of the family.  Our sweet little Tenley Rose was born on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.  She and her mommy are doing great … they are happy and healthy.  I love my new grand daughter, she is precious and I especially like her name.
Although the name Tenley holds no great significance in the family, her middle name does.  The name Rose has been a favorite in my family for many years.  My daughter has named her daughter with this special middle name to honor my mom, her own mom (that’s me) and her sister. Take a look at how the name Rose has continued to be a tradition in our family.

  • It begins with Rose — my Grandmother (mom to my mom)
  • Rose Rita — that’s my mom
  • Pamela Rose — that’s me
  • Andrea Rose — that’s my niece; my sister’s daughter
  • Arlee Rose — that’s my niece; another one of my sisters’ daughter

  • Hollie Rose — that’s my daughter; the cousin and the auntie to Miss Tenley Rose

  • Hailey Rose — that’s my great niece; Andrea Rose’s sister’s daughter and Andrea Rose’s niece

  • Tenley Rose — that’s my daughter’s daughter; my granddaughter

Isn’t that wonderful?  So what’s in a name?  The Bible says:

A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver or gold” (Proverbs 22:1)

I’m glad and honored that Eric and Candi chose ROSE as Tenley’s middle name … that’s a GOOD name!
