Empty: Five Minute Friday

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

EmptyI’m trying something new today. I’m linking up with The Gypsy Mama today for 5 Minute Friday. The word is “Empty.” Write for 5 minutes flat prompted by “empty.” No back tracking, no edits. Just writing.

My brain feels EMPTY today. Had a very full week, and that’s not a bad thing. You know what the Bible says about “Idle Hands” … I like to look at Proverbs 31 for that: “She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.” (Prov 31:27). ‘Tis true, a woman’s work is never done! I was blessed last evening to find my husband washing the load of dirty dishes that I have left to gather. My kids would be surprised to see any dirty dishes around here. But now my dirty dish pan is EMPTY. And for this I am thankful.

I’m glad to be busy because it keeps me focused on why hubby and I are down here in the desert. God has called us to work with these people and He continually blesses us, even when we don’t see the blessings! I am happy to have the time on Fridays to look around at other blogs and see what my girlfriends in God are doing. I am blessed when I read and even more blessed when I learn! I am thankful for a schedule that is EMPTY today. Looking forward to getting out and enjoying a beautifully sunny day a little later.

I just realized that I have enjoyed 2 cups of coffee this morning but I forgot to eat, so my tummy is EMPTY.  I must go get some food at the moment because my 5 minutes are gone!
