Something Special

bible and scienceWhen God made you, He did something so special. He made you different than everybody else. There is not one person like you on the face of this earth. You are one of a kind! Even your fingerprint is significantly different than everybody else’s. But there is something else that I am talking about in regards to Him giving you something so special. In every single person on the face of this earth, there is a keen desire to know God. That keen desire is a void that He has given us that only He can fill. Amazing, right? Have you ever heard someone say that they had the perfect life, but felt as though something was missing? Yep, that something was God. He did not want you to forget about Him. No matter what you accomplished or what you will accomplish in life, God so desperately wants you to get to know Him.

But, who is this God? & why do I need to get to know Him?

Well, God is the Creator of both Heaven and Earth. He made the stars, the moon, the universe, the galaxies, fish, birds, animals, oceans, everything else in the earth and you! How amazing is that? It says in John 1:1 that God was there in the beginning. Acts 17:24 simply states “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.” Not only is He this wonderful Creator, but He is the most loving person that you will ever come to know. He loved us so much that He gave His Only Begotten Son so that we could have ever lasting life. Psalm 86:15 says “But you, O Lord are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” Just as it is in our nature to sin, it is in God’s nature to love. There is nothing we can do that can separate us from the love of God. In Romans 8:38 NLT, it is the Apostle Paul that says, “…And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears of today or worries about tomorrow –not even the powers of Hell can separate us from the love of God.” Powerful stuff, right? That’s the kind of God that wants to get to know YOU!

Why do I need to get to know God?

Well, at some point in our lives, we are going to need God for guidance; whether it be a test, a quiz, midterm, job opportunity, home life, choosing a career, which college to go to, who to date, who to marry, and so on. No matter what, we will need God. That is why it is very important to get to know Him by developing a relationship with Him. You may have heard this before and of course it sounds cliché, but God definitely does have a plan for your life. In order to know what that plan is, a relationship with Him is required. Your relationship with Him will be the absolute best relationship you will ever have with someone. It is critical to know God. He considers you a friend of His by having a relationship with Him.

Father God, I thank you for revealing yourself to me through this devotion. I ask that you allow me to have a relationship with you so that I can get to know you better. I also ask that You fill that void in my heart that only You can fill. Reveal Your plan for my life; in Jesus’ Name…
