Ice Cream, No Fry Fried Ice Cream

This recipe make 6 servings and you might think it is as good or even better than “fried” Fried Ice Cream.

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Corn Flakes
  • ¾ Cup butter
  • 3 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 4 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 QT + 1 PT Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Favorite topping sauce
  • Whipped Cream
  • Cherries

How to Do it

  1. Line a small tray with parchment paper
  2. Scoop ice cream into balls about 3” round
  3. Put ice cream balls on that tray and put in freezer.
  4. Place corn flakes and cinnamon into food processor and process into fine crumbs. (Note: you can also use a plastic bag and rolling pin instead of food processor to do the corn flakes).
  5. Melt the butter in a fry pan and stir in the corn flake mixture. Cook until golden (about 5 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat and fold in the sugar. Stir completely.
  7. Transfer the toasted corn flakes into a shallow pan and allow to completely cook.
  8. Roll each ice cream ball into the corn flake mixture to evenly coat.
  9. Serve immediately or wrap individually and freeze until ready to serve.
  10. Garnish with chocolate or caramel or honey and whipped cream. Put a cherry on top.
