Romans 9:25-33 What is the source of your faith?

Summary: A verse by verse examination of what the book of Romans in the Bible teaches. This message covers Romans 9:25-33 the source of your faith.

Bible References:

Romans 9:25-33 ( KJV ) 25As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.  26And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.  27Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:  28For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.  29And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. 30What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.  31But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.  32Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;  33As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Hosea 1:10-11 ( KJV ) 10Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.  11Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

Isaiah 10:20-23 ( KJV ) 20And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.  21The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.  22For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.  23For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.

Matthew 24:13 ( KJV ) 13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Romans 14:19-23 ( KJV ) 19Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.  20For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.  21It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.  22Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.  23And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Romans 2:7-8 ( KJV ) 7To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:  8But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

Ephesians 2:8-9 ( KJV ) 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 10:12-17 ( KJV ) 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.  13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?  15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!  16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?  17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Psalms 119:165 ( KJV ) 165    Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Ecclesiastes 8:5 ( KJV ) 5Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.

Matthew 24:10 ( KJV ) 10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
