Hummus
Hummus is a dip/spread that is made out of chickpeas (garbanzo beans) and some other yummy stuff. It is a favorite for middle eastern cuisine. Here is an easy, tasty recipe for you.

- 1 can chickpeas or garbanzo beans, drained (reserve the liquid for later)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 gloves garlic (or ¼ teaspoon garlic powder)
- ½ teas cumin
- ¼ teas black pepper
- 3 teas sesame oil (Note sesame oil is very potent, you may wish to use less to begin and add more to taste)
- 2-3 tbsp checkpea liquid that you reserved from can (or warm water)
- optional: roasted red peppers for garnish
In a food processor or blender combine chickpeas, lemon juice and olive oil.
Add garlic, cumin and salt, sesame oil and chickpea juice or water.
Blend into a smooth paste. Add more chickpea liquid if needed for preferred consistency.
Serve warm or at room temperature with fresh veggies or pita bread for dipping.
