Romans 10:1-11 Do you have a zeal for God according to knowledge?

Summary: A verse by verse examination of what the book of Romans in the Bible teaches. This message covers Romans 10:1-11 having a zeal for God according to knowledge.

Bible References:

Romans 10:1-11 ( KJV ) 1Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.  2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.  3For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.  4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.  5For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.  6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above🙂  7Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)  8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Romans 1:19-25 ( KJV ) 19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.  20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:  21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,  23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.  24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:  25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Philippians 3:2-11 ( KJV ) 2Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.  3For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. 4Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:  5Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;  6Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.  7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.  8Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:  10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;  11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
